Flex fence plastic

This is a DIY kit for a black louver frame, suitable for a myriad of applications, including gazebo walls, privacy screens, and exterior shades. The set contains the following materials:

• 2 plastic rails of 122 x 3.1 cm with 11 mounting holes each
• 22 separate board supports of 2 by 14 cm, with a mounting hole each
• 1 guide of 105 x 1.2 cm with 11 mounting holes, for connecting the board supports
• 22 black screws 5 x 35 mm partial thread PH-3 for mounting the rails
• 11 black screws 3.5 x 20 mm full thread PH-3 for connecting the guide to the supports
• 44 black screws 4 x 16 mm full thread PH-3 for installing the boards to the rails
• Clear instructions

We recommend ordering a magnetic bit holder with PH-3 bits for attaching the screws.

Note: the boards are not included in the set. You will have to order these separately.

Mounting louver frames

Installing this black flex fence is quite easy and done in no time with the supplied manual. Below, you can find a short guide on how to install the louvered frames.

• Place the 122 cm long rails in the correct position, make sure they are level, and fasten them at the top and bottom. This can be on a wooden post or stone wall. The rails have small holes at the top and bottom, which you use to hold the rails themselves in place. This can be done, for example, with small nails.
• Position the first support on the rails and fasten it with the screws 5 x 35 mm black. These go through the support and the rail directly into the wood. Because the rails come with mounting holes, the screws will always be in the correct place. Tip: do not tighten the screw too much, this will prevent the supports from getting stuck. For hardwood, pre-drill with a 2 mm hardwood drill bit.
• Are you going to mount the black flex fence to a stone or concrete wall? Then add nylon plugs 6 x 30 mm to your order, and pre-drill with a masonry drill bit. 
• Repeat the instruction for all 22 supports, 11 at the top and 11 at the bottom. Tip: the flex fence rails can be installed both horizontally and vertically. Decide in advance what you like best.
• Now attach the boards. Place these in both brackets and fix the board with the 4 x 16 mm screws. The supports come with mounting holes, so the screws are always in the correct place. Repeat this step for all 11 boards. 
• As a final step, mount the guide over the supports so that all supports move at the same time. To do this, use the hole on the edge of the guide and insert the 3.5 x 20 mm screws. You will see that these also end up in the board through the brackets.

Shortening the louver frames

The black frames can easily be shortened with a hacksaw and can be combined with sets. This allows you to decide exactly how long the rails will be. For example, do you want rails of 200 cm? Then order 2 sets and shorten one set a bit. It is important that you shorten the rails at both ends. Do you want to shorten the rails by 40 cm? Then remove 20 cm from both sides.
