Mounting a Hinge with Double Straps

This way you get a firm attachment of your hinges with square holes. As for length, it's up to you how long you want the bolt to stick out. The minimum is a carriage bolt M10 x 75 mm because the inner size is 51 mm + 2 times 6 mm of the straps + 5 mm for a nut = 68 mm. To save something, the first suitable length is 75 mm. The M10 bolts are pre-drilled into the wood using hardwood drills that are 11 mm thick.
