Installing double action spring hinges

To secure the hinge, you will need the following: a pencil, a 3 mm hardwood drill bit and a drill with a matching bit for the chosen screws. The advantage of these folding hinges is that they are double-action. This means you do not need to take the door's direction of rotation into account. What you do need to consider is that there should be sufficient space on both sides of the door.

Step 1: Determine the location of the upper Hinge
Step 2: Use the pencil to mark the screw holes
Step 3: Lightly pre-drill the screw holes, about 30 mm deep
Step 4: Installing the top hinge to the door
Step 5: Repeat steps 1 to 4 for the lower Hinge
Step 6: Now install the Hinges and door to the door frame
Step 7: Use the locking pins and adjusting pin to adjust how heavily your door opens and closes

Tip: Keep in mind the door thickness. This is because the door should not be wider than the centre piece of the swing door hinge.
