Because these wood species contain tannic acid, normal screws will be affected and eventually even break. The special anti-rust coating, which protects the screw against corrossion in addition to tannic acid, is bronze-coloured and provides maximum protection against the extreme acid.

Wovar's chipboard screws, consisting of high-quality Carbon steel, are equipped with a razor-sharp Type 17 cutting point and special milling ribs. The latter ensure that the screws sink nicely into the wood. The cutting point has the function of preventing the wood from splitting when screwing in. Use a Torx-15 bit when screwing in these self-tapping screws. This is included in the box of 200 pieces. Wovar always recommends pre-drilling when working with Hardwood. You pre-drill these 3.5 mm thick screws with a 2 mm hardwood drill bit.
