This threaded coach screw is 8.0mm thick and 80mm long. Lag screws M8 x 80 mm, also called coach screws, are widely used for heavy-duty structures. This very strong screw is made of galvanised steel and has a sturdy hexagon head. This makes it possible to tighten the lag screw very tightly. The hex head can be tightened with a 13 mm wrench. Galvanised lag screws can oxidise after the zinc coating is damaged. If this is absolutely not allowed, we recommend ordering stainless steel lag screws.

Coach screws M8 x 80 should be pre-drilled with a 6.0 mm thick hardwood drill. With coniferous wood it is not entirely necessary, but we do recommend it. This allows you to turn the coach screw straight into the wood. With hardwood it is a necessity to pre-drill. For efficient processing of lag screws, you can order our 13 mm socket wrench. In combination with your cordless drill, you can screw the coach screws into the wood very quickly.
