Coloured-head screws Cream stainless steel 4.8 x 60 mm - Box 100 Pieces
If you are planning to install facade panels, you can do so in two ways. You can choose to glue the panels in place, which has the disadvantage of loosening the panels in the event of a storm or damp conditions. In addition, the glue can dry up and crumble over the years. For these reasons, so-called trespa screws were created. This screw can be recognised by its wide and colourful head, which is available in many colours. The wide head ensures very solid fastening, as the tension is distributed over the entire head. As a result, the cladding panels will be firmly fixed.
Coloured-head screws white
Coloured-head screws, also called HPL screws, are available in several lengths and colours. The screws come in Black, White, Anthracite, Beige, Grey and Cream White. The trespa screws feature what is known as Qualicoat coating, which ensures that the colours have a nice deep colour and the head is scratch- and UV-resistant. This makes the screws look like new even after a long time. Our HPL screws are available in 5 lengths, including the Popular variants 32 and 38 mm. For other variants, see the complete range of Coloured-head screws. The head of the screws is 12 mm wide, ensuring a high clamping range. The thread thickness is 4.8 mm. You screw down the trepa screws using a Torx-20 bit. You will receive this bit for free when you buy a box of screws! These screws are made of A4 stainless steel, which has the advantage over A2 stainless steel that they are even more resistant to moisture, acids, salts and chlorine. This allows you to use these screws even if you live in a coastal area.
Installing cladding using HPL screws
When installing cladding panels, always pre-drill. Use a hardwood drill bit for this purpose. In the case of these screws, a 5 mm variant. Use this to drill the central hole, also called the fixing point, in the beams to which the panels will be secured. Do this for each beam, regardless of whether you are using multiple beams. Then pre-drill the other holes with an 8 mm hardwood drill bit. You drill these holes every 40 cm. Keep in mind that these holes should not be more than 10x the panel thickness (in mm) from the edge of the panel for optimal fastening.
Followed by choosing the right screws, we recommend first of all to look at the RAL colour of your Trespa panel to get a perfect colour match with the screw you want to use. Then determine the desired screw length, which depends on the panel thickness. Below is a brief overview of the various (standard) panel thicknesses and suitable screws:
Sheet thickness | Minimum screw length |
6 mm | 25, 32, 38, 50 & 60 mm |
8 mm | 32, 38, 50 & 60 mm |
10 mm | 38, 50 & 60 mm |
13 mm | 38, 50 & 60 mm |
The final step involves installing the cladding panels. Start by installing the slab at the fixing points. This allows the panel to be moved slightly afterwards if the other drill holes are not perfectly aligned with the drill holes on the panel. Do not tighten the screws all the way, but hold them hand-tight. Finally, hand-tighten the other screws as well.
