Coloured-head screws Grey Stainless steel 4.8 x 38 mm - Box 100 Pieces
When mounting facade panels, such as trespa panels or HPL panels, you can choose to glue or screw them down. The disadvantage of Gluing is that the glue dries out over time and may crumble. This can cause the boards to come loose, for example during a storm. To prevent this, the special Coloured-head screws have been devised. As the name suggests, these screws can be recognised by their wide and colourful head. The screws have a wide head, giving them a high clamping range. This is because the tension is distributed over a larger surface area. This ensures that your facade cladding will be wall tight.
Grey Coloured-head screws A4 stainless steel
Wovar's grey coloured-head screws, also called HPL screws, are available in many different colours and lengths. Popular colours are the white, black, anthracite, grey or cream white variant. The lengths vary from 25 mm to 60 mm, so there is the right screw for every job.
The screw head is approximately 12 mm wide, giving the HPL screw a higher clamping range than normal screws. The head has a Torx-20 drive, making it easy to screw the screw into the wood with the bit provided.
Wovar's response screws consist of high-quality A4, where A4 stainless steel is the standard. The advantage of A4 stainless steel is that it is more resistant to moisture, acids, Salt and chlorine. As a result, this screw is even excellent for use in coastal areas, where other types of steel corrode.Installing wall cladding
When installing wall cladding panels, always pre-drill. Use a hardwood drill bit for this purpose. In the case of these screws, a 5 mm variant. Use this to drill the central hole, also called the fixing point, in the beams to which the panels will be secured. Do this for each beam, regardless of whether you are using multiple beams. Then pre-drill the other holes with an 8 mm hardwood drill bit. You drill these holes every 40 cm. Keep in mind that these holes should not be more than 10x the panel thickness (in mm) from the edge of the panel for optimal fastening.
Followed by choosing the right screws, we recommend first of all to look at the RAL colour of your Trespa panel to get a perfect colour match with the screw you want to use. Then determine the desired screw length, which depends on the panel thickness. Below is a brief overview of the various (standard) panel thicknesses and suitable screws:
Sheet thickness | Minimum screw length |
6 mm | 25, 32, 38, 50 & 60 mm |
8 mm | 32, 38, 50 & 60 mm |
10 mm | 38, 50 & 60 mm |
13 mm | 38, 50 & 60 mm |
Now you can start installing the boards. It is best to start by installing the plate at the drilled fixation points. This has the advantage that the plate can easily be 'shifted' if the other drill holes are not perfectly aligned with those of the plate. Then tighten it. Be careful not to tighten it too much, just 'hand-tight' is tight enough (as the plate will expand and shrink). Then start tightening the other screws until all screws are in and the plate is firmly in place. Please note, here again, that "hand-tight" is sufficient given the action of the plate.
Ordering Coloured-head screws
Don't wait and order this high-quality Coloured-head screw today. Not only is the screw made of high-quality A4 stainless steel, the screws are also offered at a very affordable price. The HPL screws come with a high-quality Qualicoat coating, which ensures that the colour of the head is long-lasting and will not scratch. Then take a look at our entire range of Coloured-head screws, where we have various other sizes and colours at our disposal. If you want to secure a rockpanel panel, we recommend our rockpanel screws, which are supplied in the same Quality (A4 with Qualicoat coating). However, these are specially manufactured to always have the right clamping force for these specific boards for optimal results. For wooden cladding, on the other hand, we recommend our cladding screws. Thanks to the lens head, these screws provide an almost invisible fastening.
