Coloured-head screws Grey Stainless steel 4.8 x 60 mm - Box 100 Pieces
If you are planning to install facade panels, you can do so in two ways. You can choose to glue the panels in place, which has the disadvantage of loosening the panels in the event of a storm or damp conditions. In addition, the glue can dry up and crumble over the years. For these reasons, so-called trespa screws were created. This screw can be recognised by its wide and colourful head, which is available in many colours. The wide head ensures very solid fastening, as the tension is distributed over the entire head. As a result, the cladding panels will be firmly fixed.
Coloured-head screws A4 stainless steel
The range of coloured-head screws offered by Wovar are available in many different colours and lengths. The screws can be bought in White, Black, Anthracite, Beige, Grey and Cream white. The lengths range from 25 to 60 mm. Coloured-head screws, also called HPL screws, have a Qualicoat coating. This coating ensures that the colour of the head is retained and is also scratch- and UV-resistant. The screw head is 12 mm wide and thus ensures a high clamping range. The thread thickness is 4.8 mm. You screw down the trepa screws using a Torx-20 bit. You will receive this bit free when you buy a box of screws! These screws are made of A4 stainless steel, which has the advantage over A2 stainless steel that they are even more resistant to moisture, acids, salts and chlorine. This allows you to use these screws even if you live in a coastal area.
Installing response panels
When installing facade panels, always pre-drill. Use a hardwood drill bit for this purpose. In the case of these screws, a 5 mm variant. Use this to drill the central hole, also known as the fixing point, in the beams to which the panels will be secured. Do this for each beam, regardless of whether you are using multiple beams. Then pre-drill the other holes with an 8 mm hardwood drill bit. This size is necessary so that the boards can shrink or expand with temperature changes.
The next step is to choose the right screws. Wovar advises to first look carefully at the RAL colour of your wall cladding panels so that you always purchase the correct screw colour. Next, determine the desired screw length. The right screw length for your job depends on the panel thickness. Below is a chart showing the common panel thicknesses and corresponding screw lengths.
Sheet thickness | Minimum screw length |
6 mm | 25, 32, 38, 50 & 60 mm |
8 mm | 32, 38, 50 & 60 mm |
10 mm | 38, 50 & 60 mm |
13 mm | 38, 50 & 60 mm |
Now you can start installing the boards. We recommend you start by installing the plate at the fixing points. This has the advantage that the plate can be easily 'shifted' if the other drill holes are not perfectly aligned with the plate when you clamp it in place. Do not overtighten the screws, hand-tight is enough in this case. Finally, tighten the other screws securely. Again, do not over-tighten the screws.

If you want to secure a rockpanel panel we recommend our rockpanel screws, these are supplied in the same Quality (A4 with Qualicoat coating). However, these are specially manufactured to always have the right clamping force for these specific boards for optimal results. For wooden cladding, on the other hand, we recommend our cladding screws. Thanks to the lens head, these screws provide an almost invisible fastening.
