Replacing the cylinder lock is a simple job, you can easily do it yourself without the need for a locksmith. A cylinder lock size 30 - 30 mm, like this model, is Universal and perfectly suited for doors with a normal size between 38 and 42 mm. This is the most common thickness of a Hardwood Exterior door, so a real all-rounder!

This 30 - 30 mm euro cylinder has a total length of 60 mm. Cylinder locks of 60 mm long are the most common size profile cylinders, with the hole for the cylinder screw exactly in the middle, so you have 30 mm of length left on both sides. We supply 3 keys and a cylinder screw with this profile cylinder lock. If you open the door and look on the face side of the door, you will see the cylinder screw with crosshead impression that secures the cylinder lock in the mortise lock. Unscrew this cylinder screw and this will release the old profile cylinder in the lock. Then insert the key into the cylinder lock and turn it round a very small Piece. Now the profile cylinder will come loose by gently pulling.

After removing the old cylinder lock, you can insert the new security cylinder cylinder. To do this, you should also insert the key into the new cylinder lock and turn it a little Piece to make the Black "carrier" disappear into the profile cylinder. Then insert the cylinder lock into the door lock. When you can lock the door, it is far enough in and use the fixing screw to anchor the cylinder lock back into the mortise lock of your door.

Our advice is never to loosen and tighten the screws with the drill, but with a screwdriver loosen and tighten them. This will prevent unnecessary damage to the cylinder screw. A suitable screwdriver can be found in our range of hand tools.
