Cylinder lock SKG** 40 - 45 mm - Per Piece
Replacing cylinder locks is a good idea if you have just moved into a new home, for example. After all, are you really sure you have received all the keys? Or are there more keys in circulation? Then replace your old cylinder locks right away with a security cylinder to keep burglars out! Our security cylinders have a CE Certificate which makes drilling out impossible, thus equipping your Exterior door with a high-quality security cylinder. Replacing the cylinder lock is a simple job, you can do it perfectly yourself and you do not need an expensive locksmith.
Security cylinder lock 40 - 45 mm
This 40 - 45 mm euro cylinder has a total length of 85 mm and is suitable for doors with a thickness of about 6.5 cm. Measure your old cylinder lock beforehand so that you can order the right cylinder in one go. These profile cylinders have a hole for the cylinder screw supplied, this hole is under the carrier. From here, the distance to the end of the cylinder is 40 mm on one side and 45 mm on the other. It does not matter for safety which side should be facing outwards, as both sides are fitted with the drill protection. In practice, however, we see that the long part is directed to the outside, but this may differ per door.
Standard, we supply 3 profile keys and a cylinder screw with this profile cylinder to anchor the lock in the door.Cylinder lock door replacement
Replacing a cylinder lock is a very simple job. If you open the door and look on the face side of the door, here you will see a screw with phillips head impression that secures the cylinder in the mortise lock. If you need a completely new mortise lock, look among our selection of security locks. You loosen this screw and this will loosen the cylinder in the lock. Then insert the key into the cylinder lock and turn it round a little. Now the profile cylinder will come loose by gently pulling.
Now that the old cylinder lock has been removed, you can insert the new cylinder s. To do this, insert the key into the cylinder and turn it a little Piece to make the Black "carrier" disappear into the cylinder. Then insert the cylinder lock into the lock hole of the door. When you can lock the door, it is far enough in and use the fixing screw to secure the cylinder back into the mortise lock of your exterior door. Our advice is never to loosen and tighten the cylinder screws with the drill, but with a screwdriver loosen and tighten. Please note: these locks will not be equal-locking and will all come with a separate set of keys.
