The plastic fasteners are used when fastening (stable) hardwoods such as bankirai, ipé itauba, or larch. They are also suitable for artificially dried coniferous woods.

How do I place these Invisible Decking Board Fasteners?

Fixing these decking board fasteners is very easy. You screw the plastic strips on the underside of the decking boards. To do this, use the supplied stainless steel screws 5.5 x 30 mm, which fit into the holes of the fasteners. To do this, place the screws crosswise, as shown in the picture. Always pre-drill the decking board with a 4 mm hardwood drill bit. Place the invisible fasteners exactly where the joists will be placed, so that the fasteners are placed on the joist when the planks are placed.

Placing them on joists

We recommend placing joists every 35 cm, centre to centre distance. The deck board spacers fit perfectly on 45x70 and 40x60 mm hardwood joists. After placing the fasteners on the decking boards, it is time to install them on the joists. When installing the fasteners on the bottom beam, use the 5.5 x 35 mm stainless steel screws, which you will also find in the box. Also, pre-drill when installing in the joists. How many Fasteners do I need?

The number of fasteners you require will of course depend on the shelf width you are using. Below, we indicate per plank width how many m2 you can lay with 1 box of strips. This way you can easily calculate how many boxes you need. The strips are standard suitable for 120 mm wide planks, but because the strips can be broken, it is possible to lengthen or shorten the plank width.
