Decking Board Spacer with 5, 7, 8 and 10 mm pre-set spacings- Set 2 Pieces

When laying your decking, this Wovar decking board spacer should certainly not be missing. Nothing is more important than keeping the right spacing during installation. With the Wovar spacer for decking, it is possible to keep a distance of 5, 7, 8, or 10 mm. With one of these intermediate distances, you are always right, whatever type of decking board you use. The spacers are also very suitable for mounting facade roofing or rhombus profiles.

    Which distance between Decking boards?

Determining the correct distance between your decking boards depends on what type of wood your decking board is. The gap between softwood planks should be much larger than with hardwood decking planks. Moisture also plays an significant part in this. With dry decking, you should keep a little more spacing in between than with wet decking, this is because the wood will warp again over time. With dry softwood decking boards, keep a minimum distance of 10 mm, with wet decking boards we recommend keeping a minimum distance of 7-8 mm. Do you use hardwood boards? Then keep a distance of at least 5 mm.

    Use spacer for decking boards

Using the universal spacer for deck laying is quite easy. After you have straightened the first decking board, simply lay the rest of the decking planks straight on the first plank. Place the second plank in the desired location and place the spacer of the correct thickness between the planks. Choose from a spacing of 5, 7, 8 or 10 mm, depending on the type of wood you use.

Due to the handy plus shape of the spacer, it will never fall between the shelves. When straightening the board, hold both spacers 1/4 and 3/4 of the plank and press the boards together. Then fasten the decking board at the beginning. Tip: use the spacer again where the screws go, so you know that the board has the correct distance between them.
