Plasterboard Screws

Wovar supplies black plasterboard screws in different variants and sizes all over Europe. Plasterboard screws are also called drywall screws and have a Phillips head. Wovar's drywall screws are phosphate black. The reason that plasterboard screws are phosphate black is that normal screws will rust after plastering. The combination of water and air makes normal fasteners rust. Over time, this rust will show through the work. This is not a problem with our black plasterboard screws.

The Wovar plasterboard screws have a Phillips 2 drive (PH-2). This drive is also called a crosshead. Wovar plasterboard screws are available loose, in boxes, and collated, on strips. Collated plasterboard screws allow you to quickly and efficiently install plasterboard screws with a screw gun. Collated screws and screw guns save you a lot of time, since you do not have to place each plasterboard screw separately in the drill head.

Which plasterboard screws do I need?

Wovar supplies various screws for plasterboard. You should choose our plasterboard screws with fine threads for fastening plasterboard to metal.

In addition to plasterboard screws with a fine thread, you can also opt for drywall screws with a coarse thread. The coarse thread makes it possible to mount plasterboard to wooden constructions.

In addition to plasterboard screws with coarse and fine threads, there are also plasterboard screws with Hi-Lo thread. Hi-Lo thread is a double thread with a coarse pitch. The Hi-Lo thread provides a short tightening torque. Plasterboard screws with Hi-Lo threads are suitable for mounting plasterboard on wood, wood fibreboard, and plastic structures.

Which length of plasterboard screws should I use?

Determining the correct length for your plasterboard screws involves a simple calculation. Make sure your drywall screw is about 2/3 screwed into the material to be fastened. In other words, the screw should be three times as long as the plasterboard is thick. For example, for plasterboards with a thickness of 12.5 mm, use 12.5 x 3 = 35 mm long plasterboard screws.
