EPDM roof drain outlet round ø 110mm - length 40cm
When fitting your roofs with EPDM, you should take drainage into account. Round roof penetrations are ideal for this purpose. They are easy to install, 100% Waterproof and have a very long lifespan. With a large surface area more water needs to be drained, which is why the gutters come in all sizes and are extra wide.
This gutter for your flat roof has an HDPE pipe with a diameter of 110 mm and has a length of 40 cm. The EPDM bib is 400 mm x 400 mm and should be glued to the EPDM. The colour of the grommet (both pipe and EPDM) is Black.
Processing grommet for EPDM
First of all, you before ll need to determine the location of the roof grommet before installing the EPDM. The most common locations are in one of the corners of the roof or in the middle of the sides next to the roof edge. Keep a minimum distance from the roof edge of 30 cm.
Next, start laying the EPDM strips until you get to the strip where you want to place this grommet. At this strip start laying until you reach the predetermined location, carefully lay the EPDM and use a white marker pen to indicate the location, this can be done by drawing a cross,
where you want to place this grommet.
Then finish laying the EPDM. After this, you place the EPDM cuff, you can easily glue this to the location with our EPDM contact adhesive. Next, use a hole saw (or a Snap-off knife) and use the punch marks on the cuff to make the hole with a Snap-off knife, then use a good TCT hole saw that is slightly larger than the roof grommet to cut a perfect hole. This is where the roof drain outlet comes through, thanks to the thin cuff which is perfectly placed, the EPDM is completely waterproof and the roof drain outlet is perfectly seamless finished after installation.
To install the roof drain outlet, use our EPDM contact adhesive, apply it to both the EPDM roofing and the bib of the roof drain outlet. You smear this over the bib (at the bottom) up to 1 cm from the edges, then press the pipe of the grommet into the hole you have just made and press the bib on. This gives you an extra business discount and a useful order overview. For more EPDM articles, also check out our category EPDM.
