This expansion bolt, also called a through anchor, is easy to install by means of a through mounting. This means that you can pre-drill the wall and the material to be attached together and drive the expansion bolt through the material into the hole in one go.

Which drill for expansion bolt M8?

Use an 8 mm thick hammer drill for predrilling. Make the hole in the wall for this concrete anchor 65 mm deep, so that there is enough space left for fastening the material. With this push-through anchor it is possible to attach material up to 2 mm thick, for example a strip. Once the slat and wall are pre-drilled, drive the expansion bolt through the slat into the hole in the wall with a handy hammer.

Fixing a concrete anchor

Proceed to tighten the nut with a ring spanner 10. By driving in the quick build anchor and tightening the nut, the protruding cone is pulled into the bolt. This causes the bolt to expand and clamp itself into the concrete. This way you are assured of a rock-solid fixing. Be careful not to overtighten the expansion bolt. This prevents the concrete from cracking.
