Fixing an expansion bolt with eye

First you drill a hole for where you want to place the expansion bolt. For this M6 x 70 mm size you must predrill with a concrete or hammer drill 10 mm and the hole must be 45 mm deep. Then place the expansion bolt in the hole and, if necessary, carefully hit it with a hammer until the bolt anchor with the top cylinder is in the wall. The side of the washer and nut will then be just outside the wall. The expansion bolt has a total length of 7 cm, including the eye. The eye of the expansion bolt has an inner diameter of 8 mm and an outer diameter of 17 mm.

Tightening the nut

Next, you will need to tighten the nut firmly and you will notice that the expansion bolt will stay in place and get stuck. When you tighten the nut, the bolt expands on four sides, creating an extremely secure attachment. To tighten the nut properly, use a ring spanner 10 mm. Note: Make sure not to overtighten the expansion bolt. This way you prevent concrete or stone from breaking.
