Stainless Steel Farmer's Gate Latch - Per Piece
This stainless steel farmhouse latch set is very suitable for keeping garden doors or gates closed. If you want to make your own fence with a gate, for example, use this farmer's handle set in combination with our stainless steel strap hinges. This farmer's handle set from Wovar is ideal if you want to build a door in a simple way.
Solid Locks
The sheet metal of this stainless steel farmer's latch set has 6 mounting holes, with which you can firmly attach the latch set in the wood. For the most sturdy attachment, you can of course use all these 6 mounting holes. The handle of this gate latch is approximately 160 mm long, so it's easy to grab, without it sticking out a lot. This complete package also includes a latch, so you can easily open or close your garden gate from both sides.
What do you Need for Installation?
Good attachment is an important requirement to make your structure as strong as possible. Use screws such as the Wovar garden screws 4 x 30 mm stainless steel to properly attach this stainless steel farmer's latch set. If the fastening takes place in softwood, you do not need to pre-drill. When working with hardwood, we recommend that you pre-drill. Use a hardwood drill bit, such as the Wovar 3 mm hardwood drill bit. In order to properly mount the door handle, you must drill a 13 mm hole. You can also contact Wovar for this hardwood drill.
Requirements at a glance:
- Stainless Steel Farmer's Gate Latch
- Drill with Torx 20 bit
- Stainless Steel garden screws 4 x 30 mm
- Hardwood drills are 3.0 mm, 7.5 mm, and 13.0 mm thick.
Mounting a lever latch is a simple job that can be done by one person in a few minutes. Position the backplate about 2 cm from the edge of the gate, and mark where the screws and the handle need to go. Drill the hole for the handle, and pre-drill the holes for the screws, if necessary. Attach the backplate to the gate. Insert the drop bar on one side of the gate. After placing the rosette around the handle, insert the handle in the hole in the gate and the drop bar. Fix the rosette to the gate and place the pin in the hole at the back of the handle to secure it. Finally, install the catch on the post/wall/fence next to the gate.
