Stainless Steel 95 cm Flex Fence Louver Frames for the Garden - 2-Piece Set
Are you looking for a louvered frame in your garden? With these 95 cm rails, you can easily build an adjustable window, fence panel, or roof. You can easily change the position of the boards at any time. Open them to allow more sunlight, or close them to create shade and keep out the wind. These rails can carry 4 boards, with a maximum length of 180 cm. The flex fence louver frames are made of stainless steel, which means they do not rust.
Note: the boards are not included in the set. You will have to order these separately.
Install short flex fence
The set includes long, sturdy screws to mount the rails to your roof, shed, or free-standing posts. The rails can hold 8 boards. Screws to attach the boards to the rails are not included, but can be added to your order. The supports each contain 2 mounting holes. We recommend using galvanised screws 3.0 x 16 mm. When working with hardwood, we recommend drilling pilot holes with a hardwood drill bit. This prevents the wood from being damaged, and the screws from getting stuck.
In the video below, we explain how to install a Flex Fence louver system.
Which boards should I use?
Boards for these louver frames should not be longer than 180 cm. Examples of what kind of boards you can use are impregnated pine wood or smooth planed hardwood fence boards. Suitable boards for a flex fence louver frame are approximately 1.6 - 1.8 cm thick and 14.5 cm wide. Since flex fences are mainly used outdoors, the wood will expand and shrink due to the weather. It is therefore important not to tighten the screws too much.
Wovar's flex fence louver frames can be installed in various ways and have a myriad of applications. For example, you can install the rails both horizontally and vertically. Louvered shutters or shades, a wind screen, or louvered fence panels, the possibilities are endless. You can even create a louvered pergola roof.
Note: Slight corrosion on the stainless steel may be visible due to the tannic acid in certain types of wood, but you can just wipe it off. We tested the rails extensively, including with a salt spray test. Coastal places could strengthen this effect, but the spots can still simply be wiped off. This does not influence the strength or look of the rails.
Shortening or extending flex fence rails
If the rails are too long for the fence or roof you had in mind, easily shorten them to the desired length with a hacksaw. If they are too short, you can simply combine them with another flex fence rail to get to the right height.
Note: On arrival, the louver frames may seem to be a little loose. This is because you can decide yourself how easy or hard you want the opening and closing of the slats to be. You can do this by tightening the locknut in the U-profile of the Flex Fence with a pipe wrench. The tighter you fasten the nut, the harder it is for the slats to turn. Do this before installing the boards, as they will block access to the locknut.
