Installing a Slide Bolt

You can easily mount this slide bolt on your gate or fence. For this, you will need 10 screws that fit into the 4 mm mounting holes. Our 4 x 40 mm garden screws will fit perfectly. If you work with hardwood, it is wise to pre-drill with a 2 mm hardwood drill. Specially coated screws against tannic acids are available for special types of wood, such as red cedar or garapa. You will find these with our coated garden screws. To easily drive in these screws, use our bit sets.

The slide bolt has an extra long tail of 40 centimetres. Like the rest of the sheet metal, it is made of galvanised steel. This makes the monkey tail slide bolt extremely strong, so it is also suitable for larger and heavy gates. The mounting holes on the roller tail slide have been milled out so that the screws disappear nicely in the sheet metal. The same goes for the two pieces of sheet metal that are included, for the tail and for the pole. These are also provided with milled screw holes.
