Galvanised Storm Anchor of 500 x 40 mm - Per Piece
Are you going to make a canopy or roof? Or do you already have it? Use a storm anchor from Wovar to keep your construction upright even in strong winds or storms. A storm anchor is an additional connection between your beams or roof and your wall or posts. This wind-up anchor is made of very strong Galvanised steel so that it can withstand great forces. This extra storm protection is 500 mm long and 40 mm wide.
Mounting a Storm Anchor
With the Wovar storm anchor, you give extra strength to your construction. Every material is only as strong as the fastening material that is used. Therefore, use strong fasteners made of Galvanised steel, like our coach screws or chipboard screws. To drive these screws into hardwood beams, it is wise to pre-drill with our hardwood drill bits. Pre-drilling is always recommended, especially when working with hardwood. For narrow screws, use a minimum difference of 1 mm. So you pre-drill a 3 mm wide screw with a 2 mm drill. For thicker screws and studs, 2 millimeters is a good minimum to adhere to.
The Screw Holes of Wovar's Storm Anchors
Screw the Galvanised screws into the mounting holes of 4 mm (10x) and 9 mm (5x). You can fill these holes with screws according to your own preference. Place the part with a right angle at the end on top of the beam. You screw the adjacent sheet metal against the beam. Screw the other end to the wall or post after the 90-degree twist. Now you have formed an extra connection between the top part and the middle part of your construction. Are you going to drive screws into stone walls? Then you use a plug. We recommend inserting nylon plugs in your wall. To do this, drill a hole using concrete drills of the same thickness as the plug.
