Galvanised Storm Anchor of 600 x 40 mm - Per Piece
Are you going to make a canopy or roof? Or do you already have it? This construction will be under a heavy load during strong winds. To best protect your home from storms and gusts, use a storm anchor from Wovar to keep your construction upright even in the strongest of winds or storms. A storm anchor, also known as a wind-up anchor, forms an extra connection between your beams and wall or roof and posts. Because this storm protection is made of Galvanised steel, it is very strong. This means that the anchor can withstand large forces. This storm anchor is 600 mm long and 40 mm wide.
Storm Protection
With the Wovar storm anchor, you give extra strength to your construction. Every material is only as strong as the fastening material that is used. Therefore, use strong fasteners made of Galvanised steel, like our coach screws or chipboard screws. These are extremely suitable for mounting your winding anchor.
Attaching Storm Anchors to Beams
Are you mounting a storm anchor in hardwood beams or posts? Then pre-drilling with our hardwood drill bits. Pre-drilling is always recommended, especially when working with hardwood. For thin screws of, for example, 3 mm, 1 mm distance is the minimum difference between the screw and the thinner drill bit. For thicker screws or bolts, 2 or more millimeters difference is the minimum. You have several mounting holes at your disposal to screw in the storm anchor. You have 10 times a mounting hole of 4 mm and 5 times a hole of 9 millimeters. You screw the angled part on top of a beam. Then screw the underlying part against the beam. The part after the bend is screwed to the wall or post. Now you have formed an extra connection between the top part and the middle part of your construction.
Are you going to drive screws into stone walls? Then you use a plug. We recommend inserting nylon plugs in your wall. To do this, drill a hole using concrete drills of the same thickness as the plug.
