This black gate hardware set is equipped with 2 beautiful black hinges of 80 cm with a rustic tip, 2 black hinge hooks, 1 black farmer gate latch, 6 black M8x30mm lag screws, 2 black carriage bolts M8x60mm galvanised, a hardwood drill 6mm and a hardwood drill bit of 9 mm thick.

Installing cranked hinges

Before you start, it is important to note that you will also need 18 black 410 stainless steel 4 x 50 mm garden screws, as they are not included in this set.

To mount this black gate fitting to your garden fence, use the supplied lag screws. The black powder-coated 60 cm strap hinges have 3 round holes and 1 square hole. Use the lag screws for the round holes and the supplied carriage bolts for the square hole.

Use the 6 mm thick hardwood drill bit to pre-drill the lag screws. Note: do not drill all the way through the garden fence. 2 cm pre-drilling is enough. You can drill right through the garden fence with the 9 mm thick hardwood drill bit. You do this at the location of the square hole of the strap hinge. The carriage bolts are passed through here. With the stainless steel 18 410 garden screws 4x50, mm you can securely fasten the hinge hooks and the black farmer gate latch.
