Digging deep holes or pouring concrete is no longer necessary when you are working with ground screws. Simply embed them in the ground with the corresponding installation tool. Depending on the structure you want to build, you select the required top piece. Choose from a U-bracket, hexagonal base, post holder, and deck clips. 

Note: For the U-bracket and post holder, you will also need to add an adaptor to your order. This adaptor allows you to join the top piece to the ground screw. 

Build your own foundation

It has never been this easy to build your own foundation. This Galvanised steel ground screw is equipped with a coarse screw thread and is easy to drive into the ground. Are you planning to use ground screws to anchor a post, deck, shed, or pergola? We made you a step-by-step guide below.

1. First, determine what exactly you want to build and calculate the weight. The total weight that the ground screws will have to carry is essential information. Further on, we will explain more about the load-bearing capacity of the ground screws.
2. When you know the weight and size of the structure, you can determine the depth and number of ground screws you will need. This is also when you establish whether you will need extensions for the ground screws. We offer extensions of 330 and 580 mm long.
3. Determine the position of the ground screws. To make it even easier to drive them into the ground, you can make small holes with a pointed object, such as a piece of wood. Push the ground screw into the hole, and turn it with the installation tool to drive it into the ground. Make sure the foundation is straight by using a spirit level.
4. Mount the desired top piece on the ground screw with the supplied fasteners. Your foundation is now ready for you to start building your deck, shed, or pergola.

Load-bearing capacity ground screws

In the graph below, you can see the load-bearing capacity of a foundation with ground screws in clay ground. The numbers are an approximation. For sand, the load-bearing capacity is slightly higher, but we recommend not going beyond the weights mentioned in the graph. The deeper the ground screws, the higher the load-bearing capacity.
