Jointing Tiles
After Gluing your toilet, kitchen or bathroom tiles, you are going to grout them. Using the right grouting tools is very important here. You don't want moisture to get behind your newly laid tiles and cause them to come loose from the wall again. Use the grout float to apply your grout to the seams between your tiles. When you have sealed all seams with the grout, you can start washing in the grout with the grout sponge from the Set. You do this by moving the wet grout sponge over the tiles in a circular motion. You will see that when you make a rotating movement, all joints are evenly filled with grout. Rinse out the grout sponge regularly so that the sponge does not fill up too much with Grout. When you have sealed all the seams evenly you can start sponging off your Tiles.
Important tips for sponging off;
- Make sure your sponge is slightly damp. If you start cleaning with a sponge that is too wet, you will pull all the Grout back out of the joints.
- Make sure your sponge is slightly moist.
- Move the sponge diagonally to the joint. This will prevent you from pulling the Grout out of the grout again.
- Wipe the clean side of the Sponge over your floor or wall only once each time to avoid getting (dried) residue in your grout. (You can rotate the sponge to a clean side, to avoid having to rinse after each job)
Take plenty of time to sponge off your floor or wall, but keep up the pace. The longer your Grout dries on the tile, the harder it will be to remove. In addition, make sure you grab clean water regularly. This makes cleaning easier and ensures the best results.
