Invisible beam support 30 x 30 mm for concealed beam connection - Per Set
Are you looking for a way to subtly connect beams together? With this invisible beam carrier for hidden beam connection, you can easily attach beams with a concealed connection to the main beam. This invisible beam connector has a net size of 30 x 30 mm and is therefore suitable for 4.5 x 9 cm, 5 x 10 cm and 5 x 15 cm beams. The beam carrier is supplied complete with screws and consists of 2 parts. Because this set is so easy to assemble, hidden beam connection sets are widely used in timber frame construction.
How do I mount the invisible beam carrier?
This hidden bar connection set consists of 2 components (1 male and 1 female), 1 screw 4.2 x 26 mm, to clamp these components together, and 6 screws 4.0 x 30 mm. The screws have a torx 15 drive. On the main bar, place the female connector. You determine the place where you want to place the crossbar and screw the connecting piece against the top of the beam (see photo 3).
Then screw the male component onto the head of the crossbar. You must also screw this to the top of the beam. You can now fasten the beam connectors together with the 4.2 x 26 mm screw.
Tip: For the best end result, we recommend milling the beams approximately 4 mm. The beam connectors then fall into the beam so that you cannot see it on the outside. You will also notice that when you mill the hidden beam supports, the cross beam fits nicely with the main beam.
How much carrying capacity does this hidden beam attachment have?
The image on the right shows how the wearing direction is indicated by means of the abbreviations. F1 stands for the load bearing capacity downward, F2 stands for lateral strength, F3 for the force away from the main beam and F4 for the strength of the screw connecting the 2 components.
Below is a clear table showing the load-bearing capacity of this hidden wood connector.
Bearing capacity direction | Number of load capacity in kg |
F1 / carrying capacity downwards | 160 kg |
F2 / sideways strength | 121 kg |
F3 / strength away from the main beam | 122 kg |
F4 / strength screw | 173 kg |
