Joist Hanger Heavy Galvanised for 5 x 8 cm Beams - Each

This joist hanger is suitable for mounting 5 x 8 cm beams. The joist hangers are made of galvanised steel and are therefore very strong. The 15 mounting holes makes mounting the joist hangers very easy. The CE mark means that the joist hanger meets the legal requirements in the field of safety, health and the environment. Use our stainless steel 410 or galvanised chipboard screws for installation.

Fitting of joist hangers

Wovar joist hangers are suitable for heavy-duty cross beams. The net inner size of this joist hanger is 50 x 80 mm. Are you mounting the joist hangers on stone or concrete surface? Then it is necessary to pre-drill. Marking is easy by holding the beam in the right place and marking the mounting holes with a pencil. Remove the joist hanger and you can start drilling. Because the joist hangers are made of galvanised steel it is important that they are not damaged. In this way you prevent the joist hangers from oxidizing.

This joist hanger has 15 mounting holes to fix, the hole pattern of which is: 12 holes of 5 mm, 1 hole of 7 mm and 2 holes of 11 mm.

How strong is this joist hanger?

Below you will find a table in which the load-bearing capacity of this joist hanger is shown for T-joints from wood to wood. The image on the right shows what the abbreviations DR, DW and T stand for. For example, DR means the load-bearing capacity downwards, DW the lateral strength and T the force of the beam or wall. The load capacity has been tested with a total of 12 galvanised screws 5 x 35 mm. It is recommended to use a minimum of 4.0 mm screws. The load-bearing capacity for fastening with nails has been tested 4x40 mm threaded nails 12 pcs.

The load-bearing capacity shown in the table applies to T-joints wood to wood. For fastening with screws, it is recommended to use screws of a 4.0 mm minimum thickness*
