Patio Post Support Hot-Dip Galvanised - Per piece

Are you planning on installing a post, but is the drainage pipe right in the spot where you want your post? This patio post support is just what you need. Of course, you can go around other objects than a drainage pipe as well with this bracket. In addition to supporting posts, you can also secure the drainage pipe to the wall with this bracket. 

Dimensions of the post bracket

The bracket is 11 cm wide, 14 cm high, and 4 mm thick. Both sides of the U-bracket have a small mounting plate with which you can attach the bracket to the wall. The bracket is equipped with 3 mounting holes with a diameter of 5 mm.

Installing the pipe bracket

To mount the bracket to a brick or concrete wall, you will have to start by drilling holes with a masonry drill bit. Next, insert nylon wall plugs 6 x 30 mm or hammer fixings 5 x 50 mm. You can then fasten the bracket around the drainage pipe with galvanised garden screws.

Attaching the bracket to a wooden wall involves fewer steps. Simply use our chipboard screws 5 x 50 mm and drive them straight through the mounting hole into the wood. Most of the time, this is all you need to do. However, if you are working with hardwood, we do recommend pre-drilling with a 3.5 mm hardwood drill bit. Also take into consideration that hardwood often contains tannic acid, in which case it is wise to use screws with an AR-coating.

Always install at least 2 brackets to get a robust structure. This better disperses the forces on the brackets. When you have posts that measure several metres, we recommend placing a bracket every metre.
