You can use a Purlin anchor for a purlin roof, where horizontal wooden purlins run from one side to the other of the roof. The beams are placed in a horizontal direction and carry the weight of the roof and any loads. 

Securing Purlin anchors

Installing the purlin anchor is easy using our powerful fasteners made of galvanised steel, such as chipboard screws. The screw holes of this purlin anchor have a diameter of 5 mm. Since you are installing this on Wood, you will need our chipboard screws 4.5 x 50 mm to prevent wood splitting. This Purlin anchor has 28 5 mm screw holes, with each side having 14 screw holes. We recommend using 28 screws per Purlin anchor.

Please note: if you have hardwood purlins or ring beams, pre-drill with a 3.5mm hardwood drill bits.
