It should be secured at two points, to both the horizontal and the sloping beam of the roof structure, securely anchoring your roof to the Wall with extra support. This variant of our Purlin anchor has a length of 170 mm and a width of 32 mm. Please note that the left and right purlin anchors are available separately, with you still having to order the left side separately.

Purlins

The Purlin anchor is suitable for a purlin roof, a roof construction where horizontal wooden purlins run from one side of the roof to the other. The beams are placed horizontally and carry the weight of the roof and any loads. 

Securing Purlin anchors

To install the purlin anchor, use our powerful fasteners made of galvanised steel, such as chipboard screws. The screw holes of this purlin anchor have a diameter of 5 mm. Use our 4.5 x 50 mm chipboard screws to prevent splitting of the wood. With 20 5 mm screw holes, 10 on each side, we recommend using 20 screws per Purlin anchor.

Please note: if you are working with hardwood purlins or ring beams, pre-drilling with a 3.5 mm hardwood drill bits is necessary.
