A Downpipe should be secured to the Wall of your house/barn or to the wall of your garden shed, Roofs or Carports. You do this with Gutter brackets. This ensures that the downpipe remains in place and the connection to your gutter remains Waterproof. Gutter brackets should be placed 20 cm below the lower bend and 25 cm above the ground. When connecting 2 (or more) pipes, you should place them at the same distances. You first screw it into the wall, then place the downpipe at the correct height and make sure that it is securely fastened in the lower bend (it clamps itself) and then screw this Gutter bracket tight.
