Ridge roll red 320mm x 5m
Do you keep getting leaves under your ridge? Do you want to seal your ridge waterproof and still ventilate it? At Wovar, we have the perfect solution for you with our ridge rolls, also known as ridge rolls. Thanks to the perforated Aluminium, our ridge rolls have an air permeability of 180 cm2/m and the ridge roll ensures perfect ventilation. These ridge rolls are made of Aluminium with self-adhesive butyl strips and, thanks to the pattern, are flexible and will mould themselves perfectly to your roofs. This combination makes the ridge roll easy to install and ensures a seamless connection to your roofs. The ridge roll, also known as ridge frost tape, is available in Anthracite and Red, so it will always match your roof.
What are ridge rolls and why do you use them?
A ridge roll, also called a ridge band or corner ridge tape, is a band that you apply under the ridge or corner ridge.
This ridge roll prevents dirt and moisture from accumulating under your ridge and thus prevents wood rot.
Thanks to the perforated pattern, the ridge roll is very well ventilated (180 cm2/m) and any condensation that forms under the ridge roll can easily escape. The underside of this ridge roll has a self-adhesive butyl layer for perfect connection to your shingles. The chosen material for this ridge roll is Aluminium and the self-adhesive butyl layer makes it flexible and always fits perfectly and seamlessly. This provides a vapour-proof and water-repellent solution for your ridge.
How do you secure a ridge roll?
Fixing an underlay roll from Wovar, also known as ridge roll tape, is so easy that even Henk and Ingrid can do it without professional help. Our ridge rolls are very flexible and in fact contain a self-adhesive butyl strip on the underside so that even a layman can attach it to an existing ridge. First, make sure the ridge of your roof is free of dirt so that the butyl strip can stick properly to the roof. Next, remove the foil from the self-adhesive butyl strip and place the underlay roll in the centre of the ridge on the left. Securing the ridge roll from left to right in the middle of the roof and making sure there is at least a 30 cm overlap between the different ridge rolls to ensure there are no gaps where water or leaves can get in. When the ridge roll is on the ridge, you can cut away the overlap at the end with a good snap-off knife and stamp the sides or even better, press them down with a pressure roller or EPDM paint rollers so that they stick firmly to the tile. Finally, you can install the ridge forks.
