This set of solid handles on shield are heavy duty burglar-proof and provide a neat and tidy look for your back door. The Set has a SKG*** quality mark, is fitted with cylinder pull protection and is made of rock-solid Aluminium. To ensure the CE Certificate, we recommend always combining the security hardware with our SKG-approved cylinder locks and security locks with the SKG quality mark. You can mount the shields on your door either left or right, as we often see fittings with a handle on both sides on back doors or garden doors. Upon purchase you will also receive all fasteners, extensive installation instructions and a Drilling jig for mounting the shields. Please note, this set is suitable for doors with a thickness of 38 - 58 mm. In addition, the projection size of a profile cylinder should be min. 11 mm and max. 14.5 mm.

Installing front door hardware

You can easily fit the shields with handle to your front door yourself. The installation instructions take you through all the steps in detail. To secure the shields to your door, you do need to drill into your door with a 6 mm and 11 mm hardwood drill bit. The 6 mm hardwood drill bit is used to drill into the inside of your door so that you can push the M6 bolts provided through it. The 11 mm hardwood drill bits are used to drill into the outside of your door. For this, you will use a thicker drill bit than on the inside, because the outside shield has 10 mm thick lugs. The M6 bolts will secure themselves in this. You can see this in image 2. Do you still need hardwood drill bits? These are always useful for various jobs. Black coating security hardware

The coating of this hardware is a Matt Black Powdercoating. This finish is by itself very hard-wearing. Like all Materials, you may find that over the years the colour does become slightly lighter. You can easily repair this with a thin layer of clear wax or acid-free Vaseline. We also recommend wiping the hardware occasionally with a soft or possibly damp cloth.
