This self-amalgamating (also called self-fusing) tape is highly resistant against liquid and dirt. The silicone tape will adhere quickly to virtually any surface. Liquid, grease, dirt, or unevenness does not stop this tape.

What is self-amalgamating tape?

Self-amalgamating tape is a unique kind of tape and works differently than, for example, insulation tape. This is because the tape does not work with an adhesive. By stretching the tape and applying it to or around an object, the tape will adhere to the surface. Within 1 hour after application, it forms a seamless and watertight seal. Do pay attention to enough overlap between the rows. Furthermore, it is important to stretch the tape sufficiently. As a guideline, we recommend stretching the strip half its length.

This self-amalgamating tape also works like insulating tape. This means the tape can be used for electrical wiring up to 8000 Volts. It can also seal holes in pipes or hoses with pressurised water. Because the tape does not have an adhesive layer, liquids are no problem. You can even apply the tape underwater.
