Mounting Double Strap Hinges

The mounting of a double strap hinge is not much different than with normal strap hinges. The hinge is 30 centimeters long, so it has 2 square mounting holes on both sides. You can therefore combine these holes very well with our carriage bolts. These have a square profile at the bottom of the head. The M10 carriage bolts fit exactly in these 10 x 10 mm square holes. The hinge has an inside diameter of 51mm, two battens of 6mm, so the carriage bolt should be at least 75mm for a good fit. It is best to drill these holes with  11 mm hardwood drills.
