If you are working with hardwood, pre-drilling with a 2 mm hardwood drill bit is recommended to prevent the wood from splitting. 

Installing a spring loaded door stop

Installing a spring loaded door stop is not difficult. Start by determining the best position for the door holder. Keep in mind that the projection length for this door holder is 54 mm. Use the screws to attach the plunger door stop to the door. If your door is made of hardwood, mark the mounting holes and pre-drill them to a maximum depth of 10 mm. Next, you can fix the door holder to the door.
