Which types of wood?

Choose a stable hardwood that does not work too much. Examples include bankirai, ipé itauba, padouk, garapa, larch. Even artificially dried coniferous woods can be used for these decking clips. Woods that work too much can shoot out of the clips and become warped over time. Tip: use planks up to 165 cm long. The longer the plank, the more difficult it is to install.

Attaching starter clips

Installing these so-called stater clips is rather easy. The clips have a protruding edge, which fits perfectly in a board with a rebate. You press the clip into the groove of the plank so that it is secured. Then attach it to the end of the bottom beam. The edge clip has two holes. Attach the supplied 5 x 35 mm stainless steel screws through the holes in the bottom beam and your first or last decking board is secured.

The number of clips you need depends on the number of bottom beams, for each attachment on a bottom beam you use 1 starter clip on the first shelf and 1 starter clip on the last shelf.
