Stainless Steel Strap Hinges with Square Holes of 50 cm - Half Moon
Do you need a stainless steel gate hinge of 50 cm? This stainless steel strap hinge with 5 square holes of 50 cm and half-moon from Wovar, is made of High-Quality Stainless Steel. Because this hinge does not rust, it, therefore, lasts an extremely long time. This hinge is mainly used for mounting fence doors, light gates, or garden fences. The stainless steel hinge is 50 cm long, 4 cm wide and 4 mm thick. The hinge has 5 square holes of 9 mm thick. The square holes make it possible to attach the hinge tightly to your door or gate.
Please note: do you work with heavy material? Then choose one of our Galvanised hinges, because these are much stronger than stainless steel hinges. You will find these among our complete range of hinge hooks and hinges.
Flat Stainless Steel Hinges of 50 cm with Half Moon
This stainless steel strap hinge is flat, so you will see that your door or gate falls slightly out of the door frame. Would you like your door, gate, or garden gate to fit exactly into the door frame? Then, depending on the thickness of the post you used, you could either choose one of our cranked hinges or offset hinges. Then, the door or gate will fall in slightly and align with the door frame. The outer diameter of the eye of the hinge is 19 mm. This means that you use a hinge hook of 16 mm to hang the hinge on a post.
Which Bolts to Use for Mounting Stainless Steel of 50 cm Hinges?
The mounting of the handle is not difficult, because it has 5 mounting holes of 9 mm. You can use our M8 carriage bolts for fastening it. Preferably, use a stainless steel carriage bolt, because the hinge is also made of stainless steel. The length of the carriage bolt you use will depend on the thickness of your door or gate. A handy mnemonic for this is to use a carriage bolt that is 15mm longer than the thickness of your door or gate. Example: do you have a door or gate that is 45 mm thick? Then you use a 60 mm long carriage bolt, in this case, our stainless steel carriage bolts M8 x 60 mm.
Mounting Stainless Steel Strap Hinges of 50 cm
As described, mounting the strap hinge is quite simple. Simply place the hinge on the desired position of the door or gate. Mark the locations of the mounting holes with a pencil and then drill the holes in these spots, using our 9mm thick hardwood drill. Then you can put the carriage bolt through the hinge and the door. Please note: because this is a square hole hinge, you will need to insert the carriage bolts from the side of the hinge. The square part under the head of the carriage bolt will fall into the square part of the hinge. This ensures that when tightening the nut, the carriage bolt itself will not turn. Tighten the nut firmly and put a washer on it if necessary.
