Striking boxes are a perfect means of adding more burglar resistance to your front door. You place strike boxes in the frame; the day and night bolts of your security locks fall into this solidly cast bowl, providing good protection against burglary. If no strike box is fitted, the frame can be forced open with light breaking work, after which the door will open easily. Our strike boxes always bear the SKG** CE Certificate, which puts them in the "highly burglar-resistant" category. When it comes to the burglar resistance of your front door, we always recommend the following combination of products:

Black cast Strike boxes PC55

To properly protect your front door lock from outside breaking, strike boxes are the perfect choice. The latch and dead bolt of your mortise lock are fully protected in a solid cast bowl, making it impossible for an outside burglar to force your door lock. The strike box is suitable for left- and right-handed doors with a PZ size of 55 mm, which is the centre-to-centre distance from crank hole to profile cylinder lock hole. 

If your frame does not yet have a rebate for a Strike Box, it should be milled in with a router. Always allow for a Couple of mm extra depth because a Strike box should still be covered with a suitable Stainless steel strike plate. Suitable strike plates can be found in the corresponding articles.
