By using the right router jigs, installing the strike plates is a piece of cake. After milling, you only need to cut out the recesses where the day and night locks fall into the frame. Do this a few millimetres deeper than the length of the bolts in the mortise lock. Next, install the strike plates in the rebate you just milled in and secure them with our thin 3 x 25 mm screws, which you will find in the corresponding articles for easy addition to your order. You then tap the protruding lip around the frame with a Plastic hammer so that your window frame is well protected against the latch bolt of the mortise lock.
