Specially for your aluminium profiles and sheets, Wovar has the spanner screw in its range. As you may know, you should never secure aluminium profiles with a galvanised screw because corrosion will be able to develop. Our spanner screws are therefore made of Aluminium A2 stainless steel and have an EPDM washer so that the aluminium is not in direct contact with the stainless steel of the screw in the open air, which will prevent corrosion. 

Screw for roof trim

You can recognise the Wovar spanner screw by its lens head (also called lens head), this head shape has the advantage that the finish is much more beautiful and has an elegant shine. Furthermore, the screw has a Partial Thread which has the advantage that the profile tightens during assembly and is well secured. The drive is a TX-20 making it easy to tighten. 

Drilling roof trim screw

Before installing these screws in the aluminium roof edge trims or profiles, pre-drill for optimal fastening. For the 4.5 mm thick dowel screws you should pre-drill with a metal drill bit of 4 mm, you can find these in the category metal drill bits. 

Using the screw

To determine the correct length of the screws for mounting, take the thickness of the profile you want to fix and add at least 2 cm for fixing in wood. This is because it is important that the spider screws are screwed at least 2 cm into the wood. This ensures powerful fastening of your profiles. With these 4.5 x 25 mm screws, you can mount aluminium profiles with a maximum thickness of 5 mm.
