Window Handle with Push Button Right Handed Stainless Steel- Per piece
Looking for stainless steel window handles with push button? These window handles with stainless steel coating are made for beauty and function. The handle has a spur (the little bit that sticks out to the side), allowing you to open your window for ventilation securely by sliding the spur into the groove on the strike plate. This allows fresh air to come in while keeping the window anchored to the window sill.
Advantages of a push button
A push button handle brings several advantages compared to regular window handles.
- The handle cannot be turned from the outside by trying to 'fish' for the handle and then pulling it.
- The push button works effectively as a child lock, because the push button makes it harder for young children to turn the handle and open the window.
- You cannot be locked out because the handles will not fall close due to, for example, a gust of wind. This also make them ideal to use as extra protection on your front and back door.
Right handed window handle
This stainless steel window handle is right handed, i.e., it is easiest to use this handle with your right hand. This handle is suitable for left outward opening doors and right inward opening doors (see illustration below). The window handle does not have a lock or push button and can thus always be moved.
Zamak
The handle is made from Zamak. Zamak (also written as Zamac or ZAMAK) is a strong material made from a combination of several alloys, the most important of which are zink, aluminium, magnesium, and copper. The stainless steel coating adds a layer of protection. Fastening material is included with the handle and strike plate, and consists of four 4 x 30 mm and two 4 x 15 mm screws.
Installing window handles
Both the window handle and the strike plate contain mounting holes. The stainless steel strike plate with groove comes with 2 mounting holes and the window handle with 4. The holes have a diameter of 5 mm and are countersunk, allowing the screws to sit flush with the mounting plate.
Step 1: Determine where the window handle and the strike plate have to go. Make sure there is at least 1.5 to 2.5 mm between the handle and the strike plate.
Step 2: Mark where you screws will have to go. This involves holding the handle and strike plate in the correct position and marking the frame through the mounting holes with a pencil.
Step 3: Pre-drill the holes with a hardwood drill 1.5 to 2 mm thinner than the screws you are using.
Step 4: Secure the handle and strike plate with the screws.
