Cutting a recess in wood

This chisel is perfect for making a recess in Wood, but how do you do this? To start with, secure the Wood in a vice or with a glue clamp and mark which part needs to be removed. To mark out, we recommend using a Carpenter's pencil and a ruler or try squares. Next, cut the recess to the desired depth. Finally, set the chisel on the wood and tap the chisel with a hammer to pry away the wood. Always point the bevel towards the part to be removed and set the chisel a fraction in front of the marked line. This is because if you place it on the line, the recess will become too large.
