Wood dowels 8 mm x 40 mm - Box 100 Pieces

Make your own furniture or repair it? With dowels from Wovar you can provide a solid connection of wooden objects. You can easily strengthen cabinets, chairs or other types of furniture with these small wooden joints. These dowels are 8 mm thick, 40 mm long and are supplied per box of 100 pieces. You can easily press the dowels by hand or lightly tap them with a hammer. For extra secure mounting, use a little wood glue.

Placing dowels

For reliable mounting, it is important that the holes in which the dowels are placed are drilled properly. Consider the following aspects:

• With wood up to 18 mm thick, use dowels of 6 mm thick
• With wood up to 22 mm thick, use dowels of 8 mm thick
• With wood thicker than 22 mm use dowels 10 mm thick
• Drill holes every 3 to 4 cm
• Drill the holes perpendicular to each other
• Do not make the holes deeper than the dowel is long

The dowels have small notches. When using glue, the glue will be pressed into these notches when pressing the dowel together, ensuring a very secure assembly. Important: If you want to secure 2 boards together, the hole in the end must be drilled deeper than the hole in the flat wood.
